The Indian Playboy is the kind of movie that inspires you with an entirely novel perspective on the subject of erotica. Erotica does not have to be about mindless sex. It is about mental as well as physical chemistry. If life can be compared to a flower, then erotica must be its honey. Richard Menon the director of the film also plays the leading role. He is the Indian Playboy; it is his sexual zeitgeist that forms the film's leitmotif. Monica Powell plays the female lead of a magazine reporter chasing the Indian Playboy for a story. She manages a very realistic portrayal of a beautiful woman who is charmed and intrigued by the Indian Playboy.

There is an excellent on screen chemistry between them, and together they manage to create a film that is interesting as well as informative on the subject of how to produce a tasteful erotic film. Surprisingly, the film does not have any nude scenes. Nor does it have any explicit sex scenes. Yet the undercurrent of the eroticism is there throughout, you are struck by an uncanny feeling of being titillated as scenes in the film float by in one eventful cadence. That you can say is Richard's main masterstroke – he manages to dissect the anatomy of an adult film without even having to resort to nudity. The supplemental (FREE!) illustrated, 94 page book that answers more than 450 questions relating to adult film production, The Indian Playboy and entrepreneurship is a unique and terrific offer and worth the $19.95 price alone. But alas, Richard knows how to please and you get a 2 items for the price of one.
