R. Purushothama Rao

I was born on January 8^th in a small village in Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh. My father, being a village administrator, I enjoyed a coveted and respectable life in childhood. I had my High school education in the village schools and graduation Bsc [m.p.c] in Hindu college Guntur. Bed and M.A. [Telugu] in the same town. I joined State Bank of India in Jan 1971 and sought retirement on 1st Oct 2004 as Manager. Happily settled in Guntur. One daughter in Detroit [USA], one son in Houston [USA] and my other son with M/S IBM as Software Engineer in Hyderabad.

I started my poetic career in 1964 July. I have more than 500 poems published in various magazines in Telugu and more than 100 literary essays in Telugu. New millennium gave me new entrance into English language. I have more than 600 poems published on web pages. 2 volumes of my poetry were published in 1965 and 1967.
