N. S. Murty
NS Murty 55 is a central government employee in the union of India. He did his M.Sc in Applied Mathematics from Andhra University. And out of interest in literature did his MA(eng) in 1984 and presently enrolled for M.Phil from MKU. He published in 1997 along with his ( now late) maternal uncle RS Krishna moorthy,(who was a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary and worked in an MNC as OSD until his retirement in 1999) a select collection of 19 Telugu Short stories rendered into english, titled "The Palette". Their sequel to the first, "The Easel" is delayed due to the sad and sudden demise of RS Krishna Moorthy in July 2001. Together they won the Katha- British Council South-Asian Translation Award in 2000. Mr. RS Krishna Moorthy published NS Murty's english poems with a foreword by Prof. Shiv K Kumar, in 1999 as his 61st birthday gift. Mr. NS Murty has also published a collection of Telugu poems with another well-known Telugu poet Sowbhagya titled " Nuvvu-Nenoo, Gaanamoo-Galamoo" in 1998. Besides, their translations went into different collections. He is essentially interested in poetry and translation of short stories.
