Unusual Friendship

Friendship happens in stages. Two partners involved in a friendship are first introduced to each other. They start liking each other. A fellow feeling is generated. Each one becomes delighted in the company of the other.

Recently I have come across an instance of unusual friendship. Early in the morning we keep our front door open so that the milkman can keep the packets of milk quietly on the table in the drawing room. This saves us from the botheration of hearing the call bell affecting the serene atmosphere of the house.

One morning all of a sudden we noticed a cute little pup straightway entering into my bedroom. It was a black puppy with a few white spots. It came so near to me as if it knew me since ages.

We wanted that the pup should go out of the house to join its Mummy. My husband lured it with a biscuit in his hand pretending to go out of the house so that it follows him for the sake of having the biscuit.  But it was not in a mood to oblige. Ignoring his gesture it continued to move around me waging its tail. We were not in a position to understand the reason behind its extending special friendship to me.   Ultimately my husband asked me to come out of the house so that it would follow me. By this time I had also developed a soft corner for it. However appreciating the problem of rearing it in the house as a pet I had to follow the dictate of my husband.

With a heavy heart I had to take it out and gave it to the custody of the watchman for sending it to its rightful place.
