What is your Problem ?

The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you – depending on how you respond to them.

Unfortunately, most people fail to see how they can use problems for good in their lives.

They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring.

5 ways in which Problems serve you a Positive Purpose :

1) To Direct You - Sometimes a fire must be lit under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change by seeking our attention.

2) To Inspect You - People are like tea bags...if you want to know what’s inside them, just drop them into hot water! Problems test your Faith.

What do problems reveal about you? Many types of troubles test your Faith and will make you learn patience, perseverance and endurance.

3) To Correct You - Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It’s likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove.

But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something by losing it.

So it is often good for us that we are afflicted b'cos it makes us learn the rules, norms and statutes - nevertheless the hard way - but who said, that learning the lessons of life was always come easy, go easy ?!

4) To Protect You - A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious.

In one case study, an employee was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do.

His unemployment was a problem – but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when management’s actions were eventually discovered.

We tend to think that problems are intended to harm us but quite often they are intended to do us good so that we take precautionary measures.

5) To Perfect You - Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders because problems focus more on our characters than on our comfort levels.

We tend to feel uncomfortable whenever there is a problem plaguing us and we seek that eluding comfort by trying to resolve it as soon as possible so that our comfort levels are restored.

When we run into problems, they help us learn to be patient with our consistent and concerted efforts at problem-solving.

Patience develops strength of character in us by making our hope and faith strong and steady in the face of adversity.

We pacify ourselves not to despair, to carry on striving...to renew and repair !

Thus approaching problems with a positive attitude towards the solution might help in making problems serve a positive purpose in our lives.
