Dearest Kochi

She sleeps beside me

And breathes into my face

I smell her stale breath

Even that invigorates me.

Everything about her

Simply captivates me

Don’t know whether

I love her like crazy

Or if it is just me

Being a ‘crazy-me’.

She is breathing easy,

Sleeping peacefully…

What greater joy

Can a mother enjoy

Than gazing at her

Sleeping Beauty…

Her dainty, darling daughter

Whom she lovingly calls her

“Dearest Kochi”.
